These are two different things and keeping them apart is the central rule of the platform.

A vehicle record is the permanent identity of a car: its make, model, year, odometer history, custody, disclosure answers, documents and stories. It is created whether or not the car is ever for sale, and it is not deleted when a sale completes.

A listing is a temporary commercial state attached to that record. It has a price, a currency, a location and a contact method. It can be paused, sold or archived. When it closes, the record carries on without it.

You may not create a second record for a car you already have a record for in order to relist it, and you may not edit history out of a record in order to make a car more attractive. That is the whole proposition of the product, and it is enforced.

OneRoofCars is a marketplace, not a vehicle dealer and not an escrow agent. We never hold your money, we never take ownership of a car, and we are not a party to the contract between a buyer and a seller.

Inspection, negotiation, payment and legal transfer of ownership happen directly between you. That means a deposit you hand to a seller is not covered by anything on this site. Never send a deposit to someone you have not seen in person.

• One active listing per vehicle. A car cannot be on sale in three places at once, and a closed listing cannot be quietly reposted under a new advert.
• Declare the damage. Accident history, flood damage, structural repair and import history belong on the disclosure sheet. Concealment is grounds for removal and permanent ban.
• Your photos are yours. Do not upload photography of a car that is not the car on the record.
• Price in the currency you mean. The price and currency you set are permanent and are never rewritten. Buyers may see an indicative conversion; that is a presentation feature, not a change to your asking price.
• No dealers dumping stock. Commercial accounts are welcome, but inventory limits apply so the marketplace does not turn into a lot.

You keep ownership of the photographs and text you upload. You grant us a licence to display them for the purpose of running the record and the marketplace, including showing them in search results and on the record card.

By posting a sighting of a car you do not own, you confirm you were not harassment or surveillance. We remove content that doxxes a person, plates a private vehicle with intent to identify its owner, or solicits contact details off-platform.

We remove listings and records that breach these terms, and we suspend accounts that breach them repeatedly. Verified mechanics, dealers and community moderators act under a narrower set of permissions than the platform owner, and every privileged action is logged. Where we have made a mistake, you can appeal.

OneRoofCars publishes what people tell it. We verify what we can and we show the difference between what is verified and what is claimed, but we do not warrant that any vehicle is fit for purpose, mechanically sound, or accurately described. Verify any car you intend to buy, independently, before you commit to it.
