Twenty-eight years, three custodians, and every page of the service book

My father bought this Hilux new in Pietermaritzburg and drove it every day for twenty-three years. It came to me with the paperwork and the receipts still inside. I have put all of it on the record rather than in a drawer, because the next person deserves the evidence and not just my word for it. It is for sale and I am emigrating, but the record stays either way.

The Mileage Integrity Check flagged my own car and it was right

The graph on my E30 page shows the mileage going backwards in 2023, and I did not have a good answer for it. I have now photographed the instrument cluster and the service invoices for that period and uploaded them. I still do not have a clean answer. What I have is the truth, dated, which is a lot better than the previous listing that simply called it "low km".

Spotted

Spotted: an R32 in Nishi-ku with four generations of bolt-ons catalogued

Parked in a side street, plates unreadable from the road, but the owner has a full modification record with part numbers and photos of the work. I have added it to the sightings list. Genuinely the most comprehensively documented Skyline I have ever seen on a website.

Listed: a 930 Turbo that was never sold new, with the service gap explained

Matching numbers, original interior, and a documented gap in the service record between 1997 and 2003 that the previous owner attributed to storage. That gap is on the record, not omitted. I have owned it for seven years and I would rather you read the whole page than just the price.

Listed: a Camaro SS with disclosed flood damage and a dry bill of lading

The 2015 barn flood is on my disclosure sheet and in my timeline, along with what was replaced and what was not. I know that costs me buyers. I would rather lose the sale than somebody else's trust, and the car is worth having on its own merits.

I scanned thirty years of paper receipts so the next owner inherits the evidence

Eleven boxes of service paperwork from a car my mother learned to drive in and I learned in. It is not for sale and it never has been. But every invoice is scanned and on the record, in case one day somebody else ends up with it and wants to know whether it was looked after.

Story

Nine years of evenings, and the frame rot is on the record too

Found under a camper shell in a dry field with 135 500 km on it and the original 351 still inside. The passenger-side frame rot is documented with photographs from before the repair, which is the part most people would leave off. Nine years later it drove itself 40 miles to the show without a hiccup.
